EUM Tattoo Academy Program - Toronto
EUM Academy offers a structured, professional tattoo training program designed for aspiring tattoo artists who want real industry skills, not shortcuts. Our curriculum is divided into three progressive levels: Initiation, Beginner, and Mentoring, guiding students from theory to live skin practice under expert supervision.
Program Length: 4 months total + optional course (one-on-one Mentoring course)
Each Level: 8 weeks (2 months) + optional course (one-on-one Mentoring course)
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11 AM - 2 PM
Location: Toronto Downtown (At Tattoo People, 1071 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON M5R 3G8)
This program is ideal for beginners with no experience, as well as artists looking to transition into professional tattooing.

INITIATION (Weeks 1–8)
Tattoo Fundamentals, Theory & Technical Practice
The Initiation course focuses on building the foundation of a professional tattoo artist, training the eye, the hand, and the mind before touching real skin.
BEGINNER (Weeks 9–16)
Live Skin Practice & Client-Based Training
Students begin supervised tattooing on real skin, learning how tattoos behave beyond practice pads.
MENTORING / JUNIOR ARTIST (Optional)
Advanced Skill Development & Professional Mentorship
Our instructors are active tattoo artists with years of professional experience. They’re not just teachers — they’re mentors who guide each student through personal artistic growth, technical improvement, and industry preparation.
INITIATION COURSE
Part 1: Theory & Design Foundations (Weeks 1–3 | 6 Classes)
The first phase is dedicated to understanding tattooing as both a craft and an art form.
Key topics include:
Tattoo history & genre characteristics
Artist research and style analysis
Toronto Public Health hygiene standards
Cross-contamination prevention & workstation setup
Tattoo machines (coil vs rotary) & needle theory
Skin anatomy, depth control & pain management
Procreate for tattoo design & stencil preparation
Body flow, placement, photography & social media basics
Students learn how to see tattoos properly before learning how to tattoo.
Part 2: Technical Practice on Fake Skin (Weeks 4–8 | 10 Classes)
This phase transitions students into hands-on technical training using professional tattoo equipment on fake skin.
Technical skills covered:
Line work fundamentals & advanced line control
Grey Wash shading & pendulum techniques
Packing techniques (solid fill, zig-zag, whip shading)
Colour theory, ink mixing & skin tone adaptation
Custom tattoo design workflow (concept → stencil → execution)
Final Goal:
Create a complete custom tattoo design that demonstrates technical control, clean execution, and emerging personal style.
BEGINNER COURSE
Practical Skin Adaptation (8 Weeks | 16 Classes)
The Beginner course is 100% hands-on live skin practice, guided directly by Head Mentors.
Students learn:
How real skin differs from practice pads
Proper tension, depth, and needle control
Client communication, consent & aftercare
Commercially in-demand tattoo styles
Training Focus:
Symbols & mini tattoos
Lettering (words → sentences)
Line-only designs
Colour assessment & retouching
Full professional workflow execution
Critical Retouch Week:
Students revisit healed tattoos from earlier weeks to analyze ink retention, blowouts, and fading—then perform supervised retouches.
Graduation Project:
A palm-sized tattoo completed start-to-finish:
Consultation → Stencil → Tattooing → Photography → Wrapping
MENTORING COURSE
One-on-One Professional Mentorship (by interview only)
The Mentoring Course is an exclusive, interview-based program for students with prior tattooing experience.
