Beginner Course | $2000 + HST

This 2-month beginner course provides comprehensive training in foundational tattooing skills, focusing on hygiene practices, equipment handling, and core techniques. Held twice a week, the course is structured to guide you through the essential steps of becoming a tattoo artist

Guided by experienced artists, you’ll spend 8 weeks developing your own unique style, practicing under direct mentorship from the Head Mentors.

  • First Needles & Lettering

Practical Hygiene & Setup Simulation (Prepping for live skin work)

    • Sterilization and preparation for real clients (barrier films, squeeze bottles, etc.).

    • Consent form practice: How to legally protect yourself with proper consent forms and ID verification.

    • Stencil application: Applying stencils to follow body curvature and understanding drying time importance

    • Target: Yourself (self-tattoo) or a friend.

    • Designs: Small symbols under 5cm (heart, star, moon, simple line drawings).

    • Key skill: Depth control—real skin requires gentler handling than rubber pads to prevent ink from spreading

  • First Needles & Lettering

    Lettering Basics (Words)

    • Practice short English word lettering.

    • Core technique: Tension (Stretching)—learning how skin tension with the non-dominant hand affects needle penetration

    • Focus on consistent spacing and horizontal alignment.

    • Learn how to inject ink cleanly without leaving needle marks (embossing).

  • Line Work & Colour Assessment

    *Retouch & Colour Assessment*

    • The highlight of the curriculum. Students will be bringing back the models from Weeks 1–4 to see how their work healed.

    • Analyze areas where ink faded (too light) or spread (blowouts).

    • Hands-on retouch practice to correct and refine previous work

  • Line Work & Colour Assessment
