This 2-month beginner course provides comprehensive training in foundational tattooing skills, focusing on hygiene practices, equipment handling, and core techniques. Held twice a week, the course is structured to guide you through the essential steps of becoming a tattoo artist
Guided by experienced artists, you’ll spend 8 weeks developing your own unique style, practicing under direct mentorship from the Head Mentors.

Practical Hygiene & Setup Simulation (Prepping for live skin work)
Sterilization and preparation for real clients (barrier films, squeeze bottles, etc.).
Consent form practice: How to legally protect yourself with proper consent forms and ID verification.
Stencil application: Applying stencils to follow body curvature and understanding drying time importance

Target: Yourself (self-tattoo) or a friend.
Designs: Small symbols under 5cm (heart, star, moon, simple line drawings).
Key skill: Depth control—real skin requires gentler handling than rubber pads to prevent ink from spreading

Practice short English word lettering.
Core technique: Tension (Stretching)—learning how skin tension with the non-dominant hand affects needle penetration

Practice longer lines of text (2+ lines).
Focus on consistent spacing and horizontal alignment.
Breath control: Using steady breathing to draw long lines without shaking

Line Work Designs
Practice tattoos or illustrations composed entirely of lines, without shading.
Learn how to inject ink cleanly without leaving needle marks (embossing).

The highlight of the curriculum. Students will be bringing back the models from Weeks 1–4 to see how their work healed.
Analyze areas where ink faded (too light) or spread (blowouts).
Hands-on retouch practice to correct and refine previous work

Experience how colored inks (red, yellow, etc.) behave differently on skin compared to black.

The beginner course is an 8-week-long course, with 16 classes in total.

All supplies needed for the course will be provided by Tattoo People Academy, including needles, machines, ink, fake skin, and expendables.

Only students approved by mentors through an interview are eligible to enroll in the course.

Upon completing the course, all students are eligible for a 3-month placement at Tattoo People, where they can practice tattooing on human skin, including friends, family, or models, in a real professional setting.
